| City’s food and pharmacy expos attract 300 enterprises |
 Nearly 300 local and
international enterprises have registered to join two exhibitions on
food, beverage, and pharmacy industries organized at the HCMC
International Exhibition and Convention Center during August 19-22.
The 9th medical and pharmacy exhibition, or Saigon Medipharm Expo 2009, will display a wide range of medical equipments and materials, medicine, bio products, and vaccines, said Pham Quynh Giang, deputy general director of Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Co. and the organizer of the event. Nearly 180 enterprises will participate in the exhibition including those from France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and Czech.
Thailand’s Bangkok Hospital will open a booth in this year’s exhibition, offering free healthcare checkup and consultancy services for visitors. Meanwhile, the 13th International Exhibition on Food & Beverage, Food Processing & Packaging Technology, or Vietfood & Pro + Pack 2009, will attract around 120 enterprises. The event will help promote the food processing industry which is developing strongly in Vietnam, Giang said. The two exhibitions are co-organized by the Vietnam Alcohol, Beer and Beverage Association, Vietnam National Codex Committee, and Vietnam Medical Products Import-Export Joint Stock Company.
